We’re excited to announce that Nitsch has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the 15th annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe. Nitsch was ranked #29 in the Medium-sized Firm category. The full list of winners can be viewed online here.
Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them best – their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 workers; large, with 250 to 999; and largest, with 1,000 or more.
The results of this year’s survey clearly showed that Nitsch continues to provide our employees with an engaging and supportive work environment. One of our employees anonymously said:
“I get to work at a company that truly cares about me as a person and a professional – from flexible working arrangements to good benefits to opportunities for growth and leadership, Nitsch consistently shows that they respect and value all employees!”
Katie Johnston, the Globe’s Top Places to Work editor, said:
“The best employers are always striving to put their people first, whether they’re honoring small individual accomplishments or adjusting company-wide policies to become more inclusive.”
We’re proud that both of these examples ring true at Nitsch; in addition to being ranked #29 in the Medium-sized firm category, we were featured in three in-depth articles:
- Recognizing employees for who they are — not what they do — makes a surprising difference, by Dana Gerber: This article highlights the way that President & CEO Lisa A. Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C recognizes employees when they have a baby, and includes commentary from Project Manager Jessica Wala, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP ND (as well as an adorable photo of her baby, Eli).
- How one company made a ‘fun facts about yourself’ icebreaker actually fun, by Macie Parker: This article highlights the game we played at our annual summer social. Special thanks go to our Human Resources Coordinator Monica Chapman, SHRM-CP, who spearheaded this event!
- 23 Top Places to Work winners that excel at championing DEI, by Diti Kohli: Nitsch is proud to have made the list of DEI Champions! Be sure to click through for the article highlighting how some of the companies on the list are doubling down on their commitment to DEI.
President & CEO Lisa A. Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, said:
“We are so proud to have made The Boston Globe Top Places to Work list for the eighth time this year, particularly since the competition continues to grow as more companies begin to focus more on employee care – a value that Nitsch has invested in since our founding!”
The rankings in Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, from more than 76,000 individuals at 347 Massachusetts organizations. The winners are constantly working to improve their workplaces, from investigating how artificial intelligence can assist workers, not replace them, to helping workers get to know each other in an increasingly hybrid world.
