We’re excited to return in-person to the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) 2022 Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference next week – will we see you there?
The SCUP Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference, being held at the University of Virginia (UVA) March 9th through 11th, is built around the theme of Acknowledging History + Defining the Future. This program uses UVA “as a case study to begin a conversation around addressing historical context and moving our institutions forward.” As we have these important conversations, attendees will be able to appreciate the beautiful historic campus together – a campus that Nitsch has been providing civil engineering and stormwater management solutions for since 2003!
Our campus experience includes services on more than 30 projects, including a number of iconic campus locations:
Memorial to Enslaved Laborers
Nitsch provided civil engineering services to design the drainage, water, and sewage infrastructure.
Visit on the tour on Wednesday, March 9th, 12:45-3:30 p.m., or as part of the landscape tour on Friday, March 11th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
East Range
Nitsch developed a stormwater master plan and then implemented solutions to address the 200-year-old stormwater problems.
Visit as part of the landscape tour on Friday, March 11th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
South Lawn
Pictured at the top of this page, Nitsch provided stormwater management consulting to help develop an innovative strategy called the “water circuit.”
Visit as part of the landscape tour on Friday, March 11th, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
The Dell
As part of our work on the Meadow Creek Stormwater Management Plan for the 850-acre campus watershed, Nitsch designed solutions for The Dell – the first of three regional stormwater mitigation sites.
