Nitsch is thrilled to announce that John Carty, PE, LEED AP has joined the firm as Managing Director of our new Richmond, VA office!
John is a civil engineer and project manager with 26 years of experience in Virginia, specializing in site planning and design. This includes work with both public and private sector clients, most notably the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Virginia Union University. John also brings extensive experience with the City of Richmond and Henrico County permitting process. On all of his projects, he balances creativity with practicality to find site solutions that help his clients achieve their goals.
Establishing a Richmond office has been a long-term strategic goal to allow Nitsch to better serve our Virginia clients. John will provide a local presence that can draw on the expertise and experience from across the footprint of Nitsch.
John earned a BS in civil engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He currently serves as the Membership Chair for the Association of Medical Facility Professionals of Virginia, and volunteers his time with Storefront for Community Design, Virginia Tech’s Land Development Design Industry program, and the Historic Richmond Foundation. In his spare time, he serves as Hebrew Cemetery Chair for Beth Ahabah and helps support Boy Scout Troop 1829.
