DesignDC is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges of working in the metropolitan Washington area … and we are thrilled to be a part of the 2018 conference that starts tomorrow!
Join Nitsch Engineering on Tuesday, October 2nd from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. to hear about Innovative Stormwater Management in Our Nation’s Capital. In this session, Scott Turner, PE, AICP, LEED AP ND, Director of Planning at Nitsch Engineering, and Amanda Zander, REM, Green Infrastructure Public Outreach Coordinator & Private Space Implementation Coordinator at DC Water, will provide an overview of the DC Clean Rivers Project and the efforts to implement green infrastructure (GI) stormwater management facilities in the District.
During the program, Scott and Amanda will discuss how GI can create healthier, more livable, and vibrant urban communities. They will share how the Kennedy Street Greened design competition and subsequent demonstration streetscape project have impacted DC Water’s large-scale GI effort. They will also share the 33 GI practices that were designed and implemented on one city block, and address challenges with permitting, construction, and maintenance of GI facilities.
DesignDC will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, from Tuesday, October 2nd through Thursday, October 4th. We hope to see you there!
