On Wednesday, September 12, we were thrilled to celebrate the Worcester Business Journal’s (WBJ’s) 2018 40 Under Forty class – including our own Jared Gentilucci, PE, CPESC, LEED AP BD+C, a civil engineering project manager who has been at Nitsch Engineering for 14 years. The WBJ’s annual awards program honors business leaders in the Central Mass/MetroWest region who are committed to business success and personal growth, and share a passion to help strengthen the communities that they live and work in.
Jared has spent his career as a civil engineer working to continuously improve the City of Worcester. A registered Professional Engineer, Certified Soil Evaluator, and LEED Accredited Professional who has worked at Nitsch Engineering since graduating from college, Jared has focused his career on creating sustainable and accessible spaces that encourage growth and collaboration within the community.
Jared is a strong believer in Worcester’s cultural value and potential, noting, “Worcester has all of the benefits of a big city while retaining a small-town feel.” An 11-year resident of Worcester, he is proud of the evolution of the City and strongly supports opportunities for growth in the area – including opening Nitsch Engineering’s Worcester office in 2015. Jared played an integral role in developing the business plan for this office.
A registered Professional Engineer, Jared has provided civil engineering services on 55 projects in Worcester, including public and private projects that range from large higher education facilities to smaller local business enterprises. His dedication to creating public spaces and infrastructure that benefit people’s everyday lives extends beyond his project work to his participation in professional communities. He serves as Co-Chair on the Central Massachusetts Committee of the US Green Building Council Massachusetts Chapter, which aims to drive sustainable and regenerative design, construction, and operation practices within the built environment. He also actively participates in the Worcester Chamber of Commerce Construction Roundtable.
Chairman & CEO Lisa Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, said, “Jared’s dedication to interacting with the Worcester community and his optimism in his pursuits of projects that will encourage further City development demonstrate his commitment to encouraging opportunities on a local level. Jared is an associate/shareholder at Nitsch Engineering, and he exemplifies our devotion to building better communities and inspiring others to do the same!”
If you have worked with Jared in the past, on a project or a committee, you know he’s a deserving recipient of this honor – we hope you’ll join us in congratulating him!
