The Boston Globe Names Nitsch a Top Place to Work for 2024

We’re excited to announce that Nitsch has been named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in the annual employee-based survey project from The Boston Globe! Nitsch was ranked #42 in the Medium-sized Firm category. The full list of winners can be found here.

Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them best – their employees. The survey measures employee opinions about their company’s direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. The employers are placed into one of four groups: small, with 50 to 99 employees; medium, with 100 to 249 employees; large, with 250 to 999 employees; and largest, with 1,000 or more employees.

This year, 323 companies throughout the Commonwealth participated in the survey – which is facilitated by the employee engagement company Energage – and we are proud to be one of 175 companies that came out on top. The results of this year’s survey demonstrate Nitsch’s continued commitment to creating a workplace where employees are engaged, motivated, and fulfilled.

When asked “what three words best describe Nitsch Engineering?” the most popular words were “transparent,” “inclusive,” and “forward-thinking” – all of which consistent with Nitsch’s Core Values. One of our employees anonymously said:

“We have the opportunity to make the world a better place through our planning and engineering services, while working with amazing coworkers at a company that truly values all employees!”

In addition to being named a Top Place to Work, Nitsch is proud to have been named a 2024 DEI Champion, in recognition of the way that our recruiting and hiring practices, professional development, employee involvement, compensation, and benefits support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Katie Johnson, the Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work editor, said:

“The best employers know how to consider the many ways work changes — and stays the same — and keep people happy all the while.”

President & CEO Lisa A. Brothers, PE, ENV SP, LEED AP BD+C, noted:

“We are proud of being on the list for nine years and are dedicated to keeping Nitsch Engineering a place where our employees enjoy working and want to grow their careers!”
