We’re excited to share that Rosa Romero, Director of Administrative Services and Co-chair of Nitsch’s Council of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), has graduated from YW Boston’s signature leadership development program, LeadBoston! Each year, about 40 local leaders and changemakers are selected for this competitive program which features a dynamic curriculum including facilitated discussions, expert speakers, on-site learning experiences, scholarly resources, networking opportunities, and community impact analysis.
This immersive program equips mid- to senior-level professionals with the tools and knowledge to drive meaningful change within their organizations and communities.
Reflecting on her experience, Rosa shared:
“I knew that this year-long program would deepen my understanding of systemic inequalities in our society and in Boston, but I underestimated how transformative it would be for me personally. Engaging in conversations with my classmates and leaning into discomfort allowed me to confront my own biases and embrace empowerment. It was a profound privilege to be part of the cohort, and the experience has reinforced my commitment to creating sustained, positive change for all.”
YW Boston is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and fostering peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. By helping individuals and organizations reflect on and change policies, practices, and attitudes, they aim to create more inclusive and equitable environments.
Congratulations, Rosa!
