The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) Cambridge Branch Sewer, a 17,000-foot corridor spanning Cambridge, Somerville, Charlestown, and Everett, was in need of repair and rehabilitation.
To support the corridor study, our land surveyors completed a manhole survey within the project limits to collect northings, eastings, and manhole rim elevations, as well as delineated wetlands and waterways in the project area. Our transportation engineers performed a traffic assessment along the corridor which included data collection at several roadway locations and intersections in order to investigate and evaluate traffic impacts for three repair/rehabilitation alternatives of the sewer. The study also included meeting and coordinating with several municipal departments and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
