This project included the complete renovation of American Legion Park, including an all-new innovative synthetic turf softball/soccer field, renovated grandstands and scenic overlook, two new basketball courts, new age-appropriate play structures, and walking paths. Nitsch designed a new sustainable drainage system for the entire park, providing the utility infrastructure required for new lighting, and expanded water services to include two new vandal-proof watering stations.
Nitsch worked with the City of Boston and the design team to minimize the project’s permitting timeline without compromising program elements and was proactive in working with the design team to remain within the Owner’s project budget.
